Funchal International Film Festival 2023

The FUNCHAL INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL is an award winning indoor and outdoor film festival hosted on the beautiful Madeira Island, Portugal. The festival is sponsored by the Regional Government of Madeira, to promote the films and the various events around them considering the new forms of thinking; viewing and communicating, as well as to promote Madeira Islands and the capital city of Funchal. Original films made by the talented independent filmmakers from all over the world are screened in a 5 day event while enjoying the hospitality of the people as well as the beauty of the island.

Film Regulations

1. The selection of films to participate in FIFF will be conducted by the Festival's Selection commission
2. Only Feature and Short films which were produced in 2021 and 2022 can participate in the competition programme of the Festival
3. The minimum runtime of feature films is 60 minutes
4. The maximum runtime of short films is 30 minutes
5. Foreign films must be subtitled in English

Film can be submitted via Filmfreeway.

b. "Funchal City Silver Award” to award a film whose artistic and/or technical aspects and cinematographic quality present a high level of originality, content and form).
